Parents Wanting Mobility For Their Families Without Compromising Safety
As two fathers traveling and living in big cities with our families, we couldn’t find a suitable solution to secure our children and get around safely. Taxis and Ubers never came with car seats, and we were forced to choose between lugging around a clunky - difficult to install and remove quickly - car seat or staying at home.
We all share the tremendous stress of getting around with kids and not having safe options, but why does it have to be that way? Families should not have to compromise safety for mobility. From this, we were inspired to create a safe car seat option that could easily go with you anywhere and always be available.
With our children, we wanted to safely commute in the city, carpool, get help from a family member or neighbor, and always have an option if something came up and plans changed.
This inspired us to create the safest and smallest compact car seat ever designed.
Designing And Building The Safest Compact Car Seat
Together with specialists from accident research, biomechanics and personal protection equipment (PPE), we spent the next two years working to design WhizRider.
We wanted it to be compact enough to fit in a jacket pocket or a child's backpack and easy to put on and take off in a matter of seconds. We wanted to guarantee that it was safe and not only met but exceeded federal safety standards and was the safest, compact option available.
We brought in partners that use responsible practices (bluesign® or OEKO-TEX® certified), chose high quality engineering in Germany, and developed all components to be toxic-free.
WhizRider went through rigorous crash testing at one of the leading testing center in the U.S., and exceeded all U.S. Federal Safety Standards regulated by NHTSA.
Now we are excited to launch WhizRider this spring on Indiegogo and to share it with families around the world.
